Music: WIthin Temptation - Hand of Sorrow

I've gotten this quite a few times, and it is really starting to make me wonder.

On a few pieces of my music I've had people comment about the program i use. I've heard that using loops is not making music, and this truly makes me wonder. If you're not making music, then what are you doing?

Isn't using loops similar to using some high tech synthesizer that would technically have in their instrument bank the same tools available as any loop is? A loop is just a simple sound file that is only a few seconds long. Alone it's nothing. But by using programs like Acid music studio, or something similar, you are taking that short sound file and 'composing' it into a music piece. So there fore, are you not making music, or composing a music file?

The way i look at it, whether your music savy and can play more then one instrument to 'compose' your music, or (if you're in the same boat as me) and can only play one instrument, but have years of music theory under your belt, and can't afford those high tech synthesizers, instead using a program like Acid Music Studio, you're 'composing' music.

I can't for the life of me site down in front of a keyboard/synthesizer and compose my own music piece. Hell, i can only play the flute. But I've always had a passion for music. Acid Music Studio makes it possible for me to compose my songs. Music is music no matter how it's created. It's what you put into making that song, not how you make it, that matters. So whether you can sit down and write out some beautiful master piece, or you're like me and have to use a program to make the music, it's all the same.

So please people, stop telling me I'm not making music because of how i make it. I can't afford half the stuff some of the more impressive artists here on Sheezy can, and I'm not majoring in music. If something comes from my music (be it of profit or not) i could care less. I'm just happy that i can finally make music in my own way.

In short, stop critiquing on how i make my music. Your comments litterally go in one ear and out the other. I don't care for that kind of Critique. If you're going to say something about my music, tell me instead areas that need improvement. I respect the people that can give me heart felt true critiques on where i can improve. Those of you who just wish to nit pick about how the song was made, and how that's 'cheating' or however you feel about it, please don't bother commenting. You make music how you make it, and i'll continue to make it how i do.

As i said before, music is music, regardless of how it's created.

Favorite Videogames: Sonic Adventure Battle 2, Shadow the hedgehog, Sonic Riders, Old School Sonic games (Sonic Mega Collection Plus(ps2)), Final Fantasy 7-10, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Xenosaga, Legacy of Kain, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Disgeaia, Suikoden 1-3 (haven't played the newer ones), Wild Arms 1-5, Halo 1-3,Halo Reach, World of Warcraft, Wii Sports, Wii Fit, and many, many others.

Favorite Music: Lacuna Coil, The Gathering, Nightwish, Metallica (the older stuff), Linkin Park, Submersed, Good Charolette, Green Day, Two Steps From Hell, Epic Score, Hans Zimmer, my own stuff...mostly anything except Rap or Country.

Dislikes: Stupid people, Rude people, Gas Prices (at the moment), working in retail (I denounce thee!), training for new jobs (sometimes)...i'm pretty easy going.
